CF Mid-Sask’s innovative Destination Business Program provides entrepreneurs in Saskatchewan and Manitoba with a fresh, new approach to growing their market, showcasing their company’s uniqueness and increasing their bottom line.

Verna O’Neill

Verna is part of your Destination team! She’s one of the Destination Creation facilitators and will also be working behind the scenes to make sure participants have an amazing experience in this program. Here’s a little more about Verna:

Verna O’Neill is the founder of VLO Business Solutions, a company focused on assisting entrepreneurs reach their growth goals of becoming more creative, strategic and profitable. Over the past 25+ years, Verna has helped thousands of entrepreneurs as they developed their businesses. From start-up assistance and marketing strategies to goal setting and financial analysis, Verna has a great wealth of diverse knowledge, skills and networks to assist entrepreneurs. Verna obtained her Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from the University of Saskatchewan and her certificate in Adult Continuing Education from the University of Manitoba. She is a certified facilitator for the Destination Creation program and for Community Futures Leadership Institute’s non-profit board development training.

Part of your Destination team, Christina is a force for transformation in rural communities. As one of your course facilitators and program managers, Christina is passionate about helping businesses and rural communities become the destinations they were meant to be. In June 2024, Christina was awarded the prestigious Professional of the Year award by the Saskatchewan Economic Development Alliance (SEDA), for her outstanding dedication and innovative contributions to economic development and community empowerment in the province. Christina Birch, founder of The Community Cafe, provides vital support to entrepreneurs, communities, and regional organizations by crafting innovative solutions to address the unique challenges they face. A rural enthusiast and community builder at heart, her passion for supporting rural communities has been evident throughout her 15+ years of experience in community economic development. Christina’s solution-based approach has positive impacts that resonate far and wide. Her innovative approaches and unwavering dedication have earned her well-deserved recognition and awards, a testament to her ability to turn ideas into reality. Christina holds a Master of Arts degree with a focus on rural development. She holds certifications in Destination Creation, Business Retention & Expansion, and Strategic Doing, equipping herself with the knowledge and tools to drive meaningful change and make a tangible impact on rural economies.
