Secord Corn Maze

Secord Corn Maze, located north of Dauphin Manitoba, first welcomed visitors in the fall of 2018 - and it all started with a small piece of land that was no longer practical to farm. That land, coupled with an opened bag of silage corn seed (believe it or not!), was the start of something special! Owner, Shelley Secord, had recently moved back to the family farm and was looking for a small business idea that would keep her outdoors and rooted at home.

A corn maze (and a love of agritourism) turned out to be the perfect fit.

Shelley discovered the Destination Business Program through Community Futures Parkland. What drew her in was access to practical, affordable workshops covering planning, marketing, and sustainable growth - without rigid formulas.

CKoppDesigns

Carolyn Kopp is the dynamic and passionate founder of CKoppDesigns. She shared the value she found in the Destination Business Program and the topics that had the most impact on her business.

She states, “Time and money savings! These free lunch sessions have been a helpful addition to my social media and marketing. They are so convenient and easy to follow and give you the tools to move forward on your own. Google Business, Chat GPT and Facebook Ads were uncharted territory for me, but with the information I received from these workshops, I know I can do it myself.

The film crew discovered us through a Google search, as we're now investing in Google advertising.
